Our hours 7:30 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon, Monday through Friday right now and we'll be changing them come September to be open Saturdays.
This is our video blog for July 9th 2020
Today, we'll be talking a little bit about radiators otherwise known as coils. Depends on what kind of radiator your have.
If you look at these radiators here, this here we have today. This is aluminum here and this is aluminum fins on here and this is copper here. And we call this copper aluminum coil. And it's one type of it.
Then we have another type right here. This is steel instead of aluminum. This one has aluminum here. This one is actually steel. This one will stick to a magnet and then it's copper and aluminum fins. So this is irony copper aluminum radiator here. This one is worth a little bit less than this, about 15 cents a pound less because of the steel on it.
And then we go to a different kind of radiator which a lot of them we see today, the newer ones, the newer coils they have all aluminum. And this is just aluminum, 100% percent of aluminum except for the wire you see on there and it transfers to a copper here but this is all aluminum tubing going through there.
So, this is three different kinds of coils all used in refrigeration, or air-conditioning type of coils.
Here's some other kind of radiators. This is a radiator from a car. which we have, this is all aluminum on this part of it. Every bit of this is aluminum: aluminum coils, fins going back and forth and aluminum tubes going through there that cools the water. And then it has plastic that's snapped onto the top, or the side and another plastic is on the bottom here which your radiator hose is hooked to.
We have to take that plastic off to make it a clean radiator so when we recycle it, that it is nice and clean so we take the plastic off and then your radiator looks like this. This is where your plastic could go
Your plastic would go on the tops and bottoms of the radiator. And your water circulates through those tubes.
This radiator here, the brass radiator is worth about $30 opposed to the aluminum radiator which is worth about one dollar
So now you know a little bit more about radiators. So if you see one in the trash or you get one put in your car, you can get it recycled. You can bring it in to us and make a couple extra dollars on it.
Thank you for watching our blog. We're located at 3611 welsh road. Philadelphia Pennsylvania 19136. Our phone number is 2156242420.
We'll see you again next week!
