This is our blog for May 19 2021: Scrap Metal Prices Philadelphia.

Hi, I'm Joe. This week we're going to talk a little bit about copper. The copper price has been moving up so fast, so rapidly. And even in the news, they talk about a copper shortage. So, today we're going to show you a little bit about just small amounts of copper and you'll see how much it's worth and you'll realize the prices went up quite a bit.

I'm going to put, today, we're going to put a little bit of copper on the scale here, a little bit of stripped wire. And that's on the scale there. We got five pounds there. And that's five pounds of wire, that's stripped like that is $3.75 a pound. So, it comes out to be $18.75.

And we have our next item here. It's stripped welding cable. That welding cable weighs 10 pounds. That would be worth $37.50 for that small amount of cable. That's 37.50 for that.

Our next item is some leftover Romex wire. This wire is not stripped. It still has the insulation on it. But it's still worth some money after. It's eight pounds. That would be come out to be $17.60 at $2.20 a pound. And the price has been going up. So, that price may be low next week.

Our next item, we have here, is just a piece of pipe a plumber may get in his day. Just that one little piece of pipe there weighs four pounds. And that four pounds is worth fifteen dollars.

Our last item, we have here, is brass pumps from a motor. They were hooked to a motor. They were taking off. And a lot of times, they're cast iron but these ones happen to be brass. So they both look the same the cast iron in the brass. You need your magnet to tell the difference. Oh, these weigh 20 pounds. And at 20 pounds, that would be worth 44 dollars.

Okay, now that we weighed all five of those items and they total out to be $132.85. That's quite a bit of money for that small amount of metal.

Well now that you've seen everything, we we take here with the copper, the plumbers and electricians, it's worthwhile coming by to scrap your copper now the prices are up. So, that's the end of our blog for this week. Hope to see you next week.
